Untethered Mountains was developed during a 9 month residency at Loughborough University. A mezzotint of an imagined mountain was gradually ‘rocked out’ or blacked out, leaving a blank space for participants (staff, students and the public) to add their own imagined mountain and contribute to a wider multiple imagining of mountainous landscapes. This work was continued with the public during a month long ‘Periscope’ event, creating an archive of over 160 variations on the mountain imagery.
